SIGNAL CREST PRESCHOOL

Signal Crest Preschool strives to provide the stepping stones for a lifetime of learning.

    Our Goal

We aim to provide a loving and safe environment and to help our children grow and develop socially, emotionally,             and spiritually. Our program has been carefully planned to challenge the children and encourage them to develop               their own talents and abilities.

    Learn More and Registration

The preschool requires a classroom tour prior to beginning preschool. Please call the preschool office at (423) 886-2816     to schedule a visit. Children are welcome and encouraged to visit with their parents.

Pre-registration for the following school year begins with in-house registration of current preschool families and church     members in late January. Open registration follows at the beginning of February. Registration continues   until classes         are full. Wait lists are available for those who register after classes are full.

A registration fee of $100 is required for each child. If class openings are not available and your child is placed on     a         waitlist, this fee is returned to you and would only be collected if an opening became available.

   Tuition is currently:

  • $200 per month for our 2 year old program two day program
  • $250 per month for our 3 year old program and three day 4 year old program
  • $300 per month for our four day 4 year old program
  • $350 per month for our Pre-K 5 year old program.

A one time $100 supply fee is required at the beginning of the school year ($50 for our 2 year old program).

We require all children enrolled in our program to be fully immunized according to the State of Tennessee's schedule of     immunizations. No exemptions are accepted.

Please call 423-886-2816 for registration information and instructions.

   Our School

Signal Crest Preschool was established in 1962 as a ministry of Signal Crest UMC. Signal Crest Preschool is   licensed by     the State of Tennessee and has consistently earned the highest three star rating from the state based   on the Early             Childhood Environment Rating Scale. We recognize the importance of children learning through play   and offer a                 balanced program of teacher led and free choice activities that guide them based on their own   readiness. Children also     participate in weekly music and chapel time with Bible stories and songs.

Signal Crest Preschool classes are offered Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 12:30 pm. An additional hour and a   half       of play is available through Playbunch from 12:30 pm to 2 pm. This is a pay as you go opportunity and is   available for       children enrolled in the preschool who are 30 months and older. Sign up is daily and space is limited.

We serve children ages 2 through 5.

The 2 year old program meets two days a week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) and students must be   2 on     or before August 15th.

The three year old program meets three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) and students must be 3 on or before August         15 and potty trained.

Our four year old program has two options. One meets three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) and one that meets   four     days a week (Monday-Thursday). Students must be 4 on or before August 15.

We also offer a 5 year old Pre-K program that meets four days a week (Monday-Thursday) with two of those days                 extended until 2 pm. This is for children who are 5 on or before August 15th.

We keep class sizes small to support the best learning environment. Each class is staffed with a lead teacher and   an           assistant. We also have a music teacher on staff for weekly music enrichment. All staff are CPR and first aid   certified.

Children bring their own lunch to preschool each day.

Throughout the year, we host special visitors from the community such as the Fire Department, Police   Department,           petting zoo, and other special opportunities.

Each day brings opportunities for our children to play, investigate, and express their ideas as they discover the joy and      excitement of learning math, science, literature, language, music and art. In a warm, caring environment, children will        participate in activities that help develop their physical, intellectual, and social skills. Independence and responsibility          are encouraged as children learn the classroom routines - putting away belongings, leading the class, reporting weather,    delivering mail, and other class jobs.
