At Signal Crest Preschool we strive to instill a sense of self esteem in our children and to help them grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually while developing their own unique talents and abilities.  

Signal Crest Preschool has been providing quality care to the children of Signal Mountain, Tennessee since 1962. We are fully licensed by the State of Tennessee and have consistently earned the highest three star rating from the state based on the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales. 

Signal Crest Preschool is in session from late August through mid-May.  We follow the Hamilton County schedule for holidays and snow days.

Each classroom is designed to create a positive environment in which the child can play, investigate and express ideas.  A large playground as well as an indoor playroom offer equipment designed for safety and fun.  Our curriculum is carefully planned to challenge each child while providing for development in all areas--cognitive, social, motor, and language.  The individual needs, interests, and abilities of each child are always considered.

Signal Crest Preschool staff is made up of seven lead teachers, ten assistants, a music teacher, an administrative assistant, bookkeeper, and director.  The staff is certified in CPR and First Aid and earns more than eighteen hours of professional development each year.  

A typical day in one of classrooms includes music time, free play, teacher led activities, and Bible time.  All classes meet together each Thursday for chapel time.

Signal Crest Preschool is made up of two 2-year old classes, three 3-year old classes, two 4-year old classes and a PreK.  During the school year we are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
