S.C.U.M.Y.
We are the Signal Crest United Methodist Youth Group. We strive to provide a safe place for 6th-12th grade students to come play, worship, learn, and most importantly develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We welcome all middle and high school students
to come join us!

We provide a newsletter each month to keep youth and parents up to date with detailed information. You can also take a look at the Summer 2011 youth schedule.
For youth to attend retreats and mission trips, each student needs to have a current Medical Release Form. Click here to get your own copy and learn more about our fee policy.
Each year, our youth group has several opportunities for spiritual growth as well as service. From Resurrection in January to Fall Retreat in November, the year is packed with ways for our youth to enhance their Christian journey.

Feast and Famine February
Stop Hunger Now on Wednesday, February 8th at 6:30
Signal Crest is participating in Stop Hunger Now and we are going to have a youth team. Stop Hunger Now is an organization devoted to getting food to those around the world who do not have enough to eat. On February 8th, each team (youth, children, adult Sunday school classes and small groups, etc) will compete to see who can package the most meals per team. The goal for the night is 10,000 bags. The food bags consist of highly nutritious dehydrated meals containing rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring and 21 essential vitamins and minerals. The meals are easily transported to crisis-burdened areas around the world. Come out and join us for this exciting and very meaningful night! Go to www.stophungernow.org to learn more about this organization!
30-Hour Famine on February 24th and 25th
One of the biggest events of this semester is going to be our 30-Hour Famine. 30-Hour Famine is an event that is put on by World Vision, which is an international organization devoted to wiping out poverty and hunger in our nation and around the world. 30-Hour Famine is a challenge that thousands of church groups will be participating in on February 24th and 25th. Beginning on January 29th, youth will start raising money for our 30-Hour Famine weekend, and on February 24th we will come together for a 30 hour fast that will take us into the lives of those facing hunger and poverty. The World Vision website says, "Students around the world loving God and fighting hunger. It’s that simple. Every year, thousands of students unite to do the 30 Hour Famine. They learn about hunger - and then they do something about it. They raise funds. They experience hunger for themselves. Best of all? They help save lives.". Come be part of our 30-Hour Famine and help us change the world! You can learn more about 30-Hour Famine by visiting World Vision at www.30hourfamine.org.
Knot Groups
From 5:00-7:15 each Sunday, we will be having praise and worship, speakers, and small groups. Our new small groups are called "Knot Groups" because we are tied together in our commitment to Christ. Each and every middle and high school student is encouraged to be part of a Knot Group. This is an opportunity to develop closeness with your peers, create mentors in your leaders, and dive deeper into Bible study that is applicable to this time in your life. We hope you will sign up!
